Tunable Catalyst Surfaces (TUCAS)
Christoph Rameshan is a full professor and head of the chair of physical chemistry at the Montanuniversität Leoben. His group focuses on the synthesis, characterization and catalytic testing of novel oxide-based high-performance catalysts for electro-chemical energy conversion. A special focus is on in-situ investigations during catalytic reactions with near ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (NAP-XPS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). With this combination, a molecular-level understanding of catalytic processes is possible, enabling the development of improved catalysts. In the past years, the focus has been on CO2 conversion reactions like reverse water gas shift (RWGS) and dry reforming. Recently, the research was expanded to the development and scale-up of industrial RWGS catalysts, and the university spin-off “Sisyphus” was created for the commercialisation of novel perovskite-based catalysts.
